The Story of Betty Bunnies Dilema

Betty sat at the side of the road staring at the lettuce on the other side. Lettuce that someone had carelessly dropped from their sandwich only moments ago.

The lettuce looked so green. And tasty. Well, tasty if you are a bunny. Which of course Betty was. If you are human lettuce really isn’t all that tasty. It’s more of a garnish. To add colour and perhaps a bit of noise when you eat it.

But Betty was a bunny so human thoughts about the purpose of lettuce wasn’t really important to her. Eating tasty lettuce was. Like the piece of lettuce just waiting for her on the other side of the road.

The problem was that this particular road was full of cars and trucks that whizzed by her in an almost endless stream.

Every time that Betty tried to hop out onto the road a car or truck would honk their horn at her and she would have to hop back to the safety of the side she was already on. She would hop forward and hop backward. Over and over again. Until finally she just gave up and sat on the side of the road crying. Poor Betty’s story continues>>>

Where Does Your Desire to Succeed Come From

Folks said that if she hadn’t been so small she would have been tall. But Ruby didn’t really hang around with Alex Folks so she never heard the comment.

She often wondered about her height though. Which lends credence to ideas being everywhere and people just needing to be open to them I suppose.

Anyways, at only 4’7” Ruby was the shortest girl on the basketball team.
But what Ruby lacked in height she made up for in her uncanny ability to shoot baskets from anywhere on the floor.

She could even shoot baskets from in the stands but since that wasn’t allowed during a game she never demonstrated it. And she never demonstrated her skill at shooting a six gun either. Due mainly to the fact that she had no skill in that area.

Ruby could shoot baskets though. And she did so with regularity. Enough that she led the league in points during her high school years.

Aside from the Folks boy other people often wondered why someone of her height could do what those of a more normal height could not do. (more…)

What Do You Do When Your Routine is Disrupted

Over the weekend I had an unannounced visit from family. The visit lasted 3 days in total.

I’m glad they came. It was fun to see them. Hope they return again soon.

But, and there always seems to be a “but”, whenever something like this happens it throws my routine off.

And yes, I do have a routine like everyone else. Except that one guy in Asia who is kind of a rebel. And that one girl in Poland who refuses to follow any routine. And a few others who I don’t know who also don’t follow any routine.

My routine, where blogging is concerned, involves getting up early in the morning, writing a post and posting it, reading and commenting on other blogs and checking my email and maybe responding to it. (more…)

How Can We Help Someone Learn

There is a Canadian Armed Forces Base near where I live. As such the Base runs training programs in my city on a regular basis.

On Saturday when I was out there were two soldiers walking down the street, both dressed in camouflage uniforms. The camouflage wasn’t working. It’s still Winter here and the uniforms were for Summer. But that’s beside the point.

What struck me about these two soldiers was that the one in the front was a big man. And following behind him was a small woman with a huge pack on her back.

If the pack she was carrying was set beside her it probably would have been 2/3 of her height. And it was almost as wide as she was.

She was bent quite far forward. It looked like each step was a struggle.

I watched the two of them until the light changed from red to green and then I drove past them. (more…)

Thoughts on Comments

Comments are the lifeblood of our blogs.

We want to receive comments on what we have written.
To know that others have read what we have toiled to create.
To spark discussion on a topic we are interested in. To gain further insight and ideas that will help us all grow.
To obtain important links from others so we can return to their sites, read what they are thinking about, comment and get to know them better.
To begin building a relationship with others.

This is really the primary reason we blog. To meet and interact with like minded people. (more…)
